Precision in Profile: Bespoke Zig-Zag Façade Solution Reaches New Heights at Nine Elms
On 29 August 2025, the Fusion Facades team attended a site progress meeting at the landmark Nine Elms development, Block G. The visit confirmed excellent progress on the installation of one of our most technically demanding façade packages to date.
This striking penthouse scheme required a fully bespoke rainscreen solution, developed in close collaboration with the project’s architects, contractors, and the NHBC. The centrepiece of the design is a series of distinctive zig-zag panels applied around the perimeter and on structural columns.
Designed to Align. Engineered to Perform.
The standout challenge during the design phase was ensuring seamless alignment between the vertical zig-zag cladding on 13 columns and the matching perimeter zig-zag panels—while maintaining a completely secret fix appearance.
To meet this demand, Fusion Facades engineered a custom solution, rigorously tested for performance and aesthetics. Every component was precision-designed and fabricated to achieve both architectural intent and technical compliance.
CWCT-Tested for Total Assurance
As part of our commitment to quality and compliance, the bespoke solution underwent CWCT impact testing at Fusion’s in-house facility in partnership with Vinci Technology Centre. This comprehensive testing process gave all stakeholders—from client to warranty provider—full confidence in the system’s performance under demanding conditions.
SnapLok Capping – Tested for the Elements
In addition to the zig-zag panels, Fusion Facades supplied over 100 linear metres of wind tested SnapLok Capping. This bespoke capping system was engineered specifically to accommodate abseil loadings, making it suitable for high-rise maintenance and safety demands.
